Sailstar Basic Dinghy Sailing Course – 4 Days

Four days of exciting and educational sailing – from Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM daily!

Welcome to our popular basic dinghy sailing course! Here, you’ll learn the fundamentals of sailing in a fast-paced and engaging way. We depart from Viggbyholm, Täby, offering an intensive, fun, and hands-on course in dinghy sailing – the perfect start for learning the art of sailing!

Course Content:

• Sailing Fundamentals: understanding different points of sail, close-hauled, running, reaching, wind direction, and wind impact.
• Sail Handling: setting sails, trimming basics, right of way, and basic maneuvering.
• Safety skills and sailing terms.

The course covers all practical knowledge required for the Level 1 Sailing Certificate, as well as all the theory. However, you will need to take a knowledge test for the theoretical part after the course. This test can be taken directly at the last hour at the course (or later at Sailstar). The test costs 175 SEK to Sailstar and an additional 175 SEK to NFB when you register for the test (the right to take it).

Course Fee: Just 4,950 SEK, including the book "The Basics of Sailing" as course documentation. The registration fee is 2,000 SEK, due upon booking, with the remaining balance due one week before the course. Book for two and get a 10% discount!

Registration is binding, and the registration fee is non-refundable if you cancel. If Sailstar cancels, the full amount is refunded. The course requires at least two participants to proceed, and payments can be made by card or Swish.

Dates: Tuesday to Friday, July 1 - 4. Each day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

We provide sailing vests and wetsuits. Please bring sports shoes or wetsuit shoes, windproof/rainproof clothing, a warm sweater/jacket, swimwear, a towel, and your own lunch.

Note! Dinghy sailing is physically demanding. You will capsize and must be able to re-board independently. If we assess that additional safety measures are needed, we may offer you the chance to join our day sailor course running concurrently.
